We Support African Youth

Africa Teen Geeks is a multiple award-winning nonprofit organisation founded by Apodytes Founder and CEO Lindiwe Matlali that teaches African children how to code. Since its inception in 2014 Africa Teen Geeks has grown to become the largest computer science education nonprofit in Africa.

Africa Teen Geeks mission is to inspire Africa's next-generation tech innovators and entrepreneurs. In 2018 Africa signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Department of Basic Education to develop and implement a coding and robotics curriculum from Grade R-9. Millions of children will be impacted by this programme.

Africa Teen Geeks flagship programmes include the Girl Geek campaign aimed at creating a pipeline of future Women in Stem and the Hackathon for Justice event it hosts in partnership with leading Silicon Valley companies in support of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime Education for Justice. In 2018 the hackathon was hosted at Symantec HQ and in 2019 it will be hosted at Google HQ in Mountain View.
